Benefits of Sardines


Sardines, or pilchards, are several types of small, oily fish called this way because they contain almost 10 gr of fat per 100gr of edible portion, it’s a good source of fatty acids Omega 3, that help to lower the cholesterol and Triglyceride levels present in the blood, which makes the blood more fluid, decreasing the risk of arteriosclerosis and thrombosis.

Sardines and other oily fishes are recommended to people suffering from cardiovascular problems. It contains a high level of protein, about 17 %. Also contains some vitamins and minerals, like vitamin B12, B1, Niacin which helps in the absorption of energetic nutrients (carbon hydrates, fats and proteins), and also is present in the formation of red blood cells and the production of sexual hormones.
